I started photography in June 2012 and was lucky enough to be shown how to use my camera by a great photographer and teacher. He instilled in me the need to look at composition and light amongst other things before pressing the shutter.
I’d been meaning to get a website for a few months but never quite got around to doing it. The push I needed came when my picture of Lands End won the South West Coast Path Calender competition for 2015. My 2 other images were short listed. This made me think a bit more seriously about my photography and so my hobby moved up a gear.
I mainly concentrate on seascapes and in particular long exposure. Living so close to the sea in Cornwall it was natural for me to concentrate on coastal photography. Cornwall offers 2 distinct coastlines,the North being the more rugged and exposed of the two Whilst the South also has plenty to offer with sheltered coves and fishing harbours.
I have had my images used commercially by a few companies and all my images are available for licensing.
I’ve been lucky enough to shoot not only in the UK in such locations as Northumberland,the Brecon Beacons and Scotland,but also as far a field as the Canadian Rockies and the Lofoten Islands off the coast of Norway.
Last year I made a decision to switch from Nikon to Sony. The A7Rii is a superb camera and puts a very high resolution sensor in a small body and has the ability to not only use native lenses but also by means of adapters most other makes of lens.
At present I use the following;
Zeiss 16-35mm f4
Sony 70-300mm f4-5.6 G
Zeis Batis 18mm
Zeiss Batis 25mm
Zeiss Loxia 35mm
Zeiss Distagon ZF2 15mm F2.
Zeiss Makro-Plannar 100mm F2
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my work,I am more than happy to answer your questions.
I hope you like my shots. Thanks for taking the time to visit my website.
